Lab Tests

Fast, accurate results from a top-notch laboratory

Lab Tests

Where to do lab tests in Dubai?

Polyclinic.ae operates its own on-site laboratory. Most standard tests are processed on the spot, so patients receive results within an hour* — sometimes even faster.

For complex profiles (including genetic testing), we partner with leading reference labs in the UAE.

Typically, tests are ordered by your doctor, but many can be done without a referral. You can check prices and select tests here (link).

The laboratory is open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

** Exact turnaround times vary by test — please confirm with your doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do lab results take?
Turnaround depends on the test. Basic tests (e.g., CBC) can be ready from 30 minutes. Most standard panels take 1–2 days.
Specialised immunology/hormone panels may require up to a week.
Genetics and culture-based tests usually take 2–3 weeks.
Can I do multiple tests in one visit?
Yes. We coordinate the process to make multi-test collections quick and comfortable, even for complex panels.
Do I need to fast?
It depends on the test. Many biochemistry panels (glucose, lipid profile, liver/kidney) require fasting.
Other tests (some hormones, urine) may not. Please confirm preparation with your doctor or nurse.
Do I need to book in advance?
No appointment is required — visit anytime during opening hours.
For rare or highly specialised tests, it’s best to check availability in advance.
Do you offer NIPT?
Yes — standard and extended NIPT options are available.
Can I do tests without a doctor’s referral?
Yes, many tests can be self-requested. Prices are listed on our website.
If you’re unsure, our team will help you choose the right set.
How will I receive my results?
Results appear automatically in the mobile app.
You can also receive them by email or request a printed copy at the clinic.
How accurate are your tests?
We use latest-generation analyzers and conduct testing in-house, reducing logistics errors and re-draws for consistently accurate results.
Do you collect samples from children?
Yes. Our nurses are experienced with paediatric draws — quick, gentle and as painless as possible.
What if I’m short on time?
We can arrange collection at a convenient time, and many basic results are available the same day, so you can combine testing with a routine appointment.
Do you offer home sample collection?
Yes — a nurse can visit your home. A call-out fee applies in addition to test prices.
Perfect for patients who prefer the comfort of home or have limited mobility.
Are tests covered by insurance?
Yes — when prescribed by a doctor. Some tests (e.g., STI panels, fertility diagnostics) are often not covered, and others (e.g., Vitamin D) depend on your plan.
Final approval is insurer-specific and diagnosis-dependent; authorisations are sometimes stepwise (e.g., basic glucose first, then OGTT if indicated).
How can I find prices and choose tests?
All tests are listed in our online catalogue. Use search, pick what you need and add to a virtual basket to estimate the total cost of your screening. Our team can advise on the most suitable set.
