Esthetic and Functional Smile Rehabilitation

Problem

The patient was concerned about the appearance of her smile, a large failing restoration on an anterior tooth, and damaged posterior teeth.

Solution

Significant root discoloration was identified in the anterior region, creating a risk of the dark shade showing through the ceramic restoration. A photographic protocol, digital scanning, DSD/Wax-up, and a Mock-up were performed to plan and preview the final result.

  • Gingival contouring to create symmetrical and harmonious pink aesthetics.
  • Minimal preparation of the anterior teeth and masking of the discolored root.
  • Preparation of the posterior teeth to restore occlusal support.
  • Fabrication and try-in of ceramic veneers and crowns.
  • Adhesive cementation under rubber dam isolation, followed by polishing and occlusal adjustment.
  • The root discoloration was completely masked, while the natural shape and light transmission of the anterior teeth were restored. Ceramic crowns in the posterior region provided stable occlusion and full chewing function. The harmonious gingival contour and renewed smile aesthetics helped the patient regain her confidence.
