Full-Arch Restoration of the Upper and Lower Jaws Using the All-on-4 Protocol with Immediate Loading
Problem
The patient had no teeth in either jaw, resulting in significant difficulty chewing and dissatisfaction with the appearance of their smile.
Solution
- Surgery: Dental implants were placed in the upper and lower jaws using the All-on-4 protocol.
- Temporary restorations (immediate loading): Fixed, screw-retained acrylic temporary prostheses were placed on the day of surgery or within 24 hours, restoring function and appearance.
- Healing: Implant integration and the patient’s adaptation were monitored over six months.
- Final restorations: Once the implants had fully integrated, the temporary prostheses were replaced with fixed, screw-retained ceramic-composite prostheses on titanium frameworks.
Result
Over six months, the dental arches and bite height were restored, improving the appearance of the smile as well as chewing and speech.
Treatment results vary from person to person. This clinical case does not guarantee a similar outcome.
