Frequently Asked Questions

Can I complete tests and scans in one day?
Yes. Since our laboratory and diagnostic departments are located within the same facility, most tests and imaging can be performed on the same day, depending on availability. Our administrators will help schedule everything efficiently to save your time.
Are diagnostic tests covered by insurance?
Most radiology and laboratory tests are covered by UAE residents’ health insurance plans.
Coverage and approval depend on your diagnosis, previous medical records, and policy network.
In some cases, a sequence of tests is required for approval (e.g., X-ray before MRI).
Our insurance department and doctors will assist you in getting the necessary approvals and recommend the best options for your coverage.
What types of diagnostic tests are available at Polyclinic.ae?
We offer a complete range of laboratory, radiology, and functional diagnostics, including:
  • MRI (open and closed systems)
  • Next-generation CT scanning
  • Digital mammography
  • Expert ultrasound for pregnancy, thyroid, vessels, joints and more
  • Functional tests: ECG, EEG, ENMG, Holter monitoring, stress tests, cardiopulmonary exercise testing
  • Endoscopy: colposcopy, ENT endoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy
  • X-ray examinations
  • Full range of laboratory tests — biochemistry, hormones, tumour markers, PCR and more
  • Adult and paediatric diagnostics tailored to age and condition
Can I have an MRI, CT, or Ultrasound without a referral?
Imaging procedures require a doctor’s referral to ensure accuracy and relevance of the study.
You can use a referral from any licensed UAE physician, or consult our GP or specialist for an updated prescription.
If you have a referral from a doctor abroad (e.g., Russia), we recommend bringing it for review so our team can adapt it to local protocols.
How long do MRI and Ultrasound procedures take?
Most scans take around 30 minutes. More complex studies may require additional time. Your doctor will explain the procedure, preparation, and expected duration during your appointment.
How soon will I receive the results?
Preliminary findings are usually shared by the radiologist during the session.
The full report is emailed to you and uploaded to your mobile app within 48 hours.
What is the difference between an Ultrasound in Radiology and one done by a doctor during consultation?
Some specialists (such as gynaecologists or urologists) perform basic ultrasound as part of their examination.
These results are documented within the medical record but do not include a separate radiology report.
For detailed or expert-level studies (e.g., pregnancy screenings or vascular assessments), patients are referred to the Radiology Department.
What makes diagnostics at Polyclinic.ae different?
Expert team
All examinations are performed by UAE-certified radiologists with 10+ years of experience. They don’t just “take images” — they interpret them clinically and provide comprehensive reports.
Modern equipment
We use only premium, high-resolution imaging systems that enable early detection of even subtle pathologies.
Evidence-based standards
All diagnostic tests are performed strictly when clinically indicated — ensuring accuracy, transparency and patient safety.
Integrated care
Our GPs and specialists coordinate directly with radiologists to design personalised treatment plans based on your results.
Quality control
Each step of the process — from preparation to final report — is monitored through multi-level internal review, guaranteeing precision and consistency.
Do you perform Echocardiography (Echo/Ultrasound of the Heart)?
Yes, this procedure is performed by our qualified cardiologist, who is licensed to issue official echo reports recognised by UAE insurance companies.
Do you perform pregnancy ultrasounds?
Yes, we provide all necessary obstetric ultrasounds, including first-, second- and third-trimester screenings, using expert-grade equipment.
What is the difference between open and closed MRI?
Closed MRI is the standard high-resolution system (1.5 Tesla) offering the most precise imaging and shorter scan time.
Open MRI (0.5 Tesla) is ideal for patients with claustrophobia or those who prefer a more comfortable experience.
Both systems deliver high-quality results — your doctor will recommend the best option for your needs.

Attention!

The insurance company reviews each case individually, depending on the insurance coverage and diagnosis. Usually, they approve only the necessary services related to the diagnosis. Please check the details with your insurance company or the clinic manager.

Some services prescribed by the doctor may require separate approval from the insurance company. The doctor and clinic administration will gladly answer all your questions during the appointment.
